1. Cherrapunji -
Also known as Sohra is a
high-altitude town in the Northeast Indian State of Meghalaya. It is known for
its living root bridges, made from rubber trees. To the Northeast, Mawdok
Dympep Valley Viewpoint overlooks verdant gorges. Seven sisters waterfall is
known as one of the most famous waterfalls in Cherrapunji. Cherrapunji is a

2. Dawki -
Dawki is a town in West Jaintia

3. Mawsynram –
Mawsynram
is a town in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya State in Northeast
India, 69 kilometers from Shillong, the state capital. Mawsynram receives the
highest rainfall in India. It is reportedly the wettest place on Earth, with an
average annual rainfall of 11,872 millimeters (467.4 in). It receives the
majority of its rainfall from the Bay of Bengal of the Indian monsoon.

There are many animals to spot like One-horned
rhinos, Royal Bengal Tigers, Asiatic Elephants, Swamp Deer, and Wild Water

5. Sela Pass in Tawang -
Sela Pass is one of the most famous
places to visit in Northeast India. It has an elevation of 4170m (13,
700 ft) and connects the Indian Buddhist town of Tawang to Dirang and Guwahati.
Sela pass is also one of the high-altitude motorable passes in the World. Sela
Pass in Arunachal Pradesh connects Rawan valley to the rest of India. Visitors
from all corners of the country come here to enjoy the mesmerizing views of the
snow-capped mountains.

6. Dong -
Dong is a small village in Dong
valley of Anjaw district, Arunachal Pradesh. It is the easternmost village in
India, near the point where India, China, and Myanmar meet. It is the location
of a peak, a top that tourists climb at 3 am to see the sunrise. Dong valley
can be considered such an exciting place to visit in Northeast India as
it is known as The Land of India's First Sunrise. Dong is a small village, just
7 km away from Walong, and is situated on the left bank of the Lohit River.

7. Mechuka -
Mechukha is a town, assembly
constituency, and subdivision, situated 6,000 feet above sea level in the
Mechukha valley of Yargep Chu/Siyom River in Shi Yomi district of Arunachal
Pradesh state of India. Before the 1950s, Mechuka valley was known as
Pachakshiri.
Mechuka is also known as Menchukha,
which is made of three words! “Men” means “medicinal”, “Chu” means “Water” and
“Kha” means “ice” in the local language. The melted water flowing here from the
snow-capped peak is believed to have medicinal value. The Patum Bridge is
located on the Yonago River.

8. Nameri National Park-
It's a national park in the
foothills of the eastern Himalayas in the Sonitpur district of Assam. Nameri
national park was declared a Tiger Reserve in the year 1999-2000 and is the
second Tiger Reserve of Assam after Manas Tiger reserve.
It has two core areas: Nameri
national park and Sonai-Rupai wildlife (satellite core of the Nameri Tiger
Reserve). It is famous for the Tiger, elephants, rare species of birds, and
rare species of fish in the Jia Bharali river.

9. Kamakhya Temple-
The Kamakhya temple at Nilachal
hills in Guwahati, Assam is a place to must visit in Northeast India.
The temple is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Peethas & the temple is
dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya. Kamakhya temple is one of the oldest and most
revered centers of Tantric practices. The temple is the center of the
Kalachakra Tantra Marga and the Site of the Ambubachi Mela, an annual festival
that celebrates the menstruation of the goddess.

10. Sivasagar -
Sivasagar, is a city in and
headquarters of the Sivasagar district, Assam. Sivasagar is situated about 360

monuments. Sivasagar is an important center for the tea and oil industries
today.
